Role overview

The NDI Supervisor manages assigned platform maintenance operations for aircraft and related assets.

The role focuses on maintenance planning, scheduling, serviceability, availability, safety, quality, and cost-effective operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily maintenance operations and ensure work processes comply with established policies and procedures.
  • Manage maintenance planning and develop targets for efficiency, availability, reliability, and performance improvement.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules so aircraft maintenance is completed on time.
  • Coordinate maintenance planning, workload management, base capability, and scheduling with headquarters and MRO facilities.
  • Resolve operational maintenance problems and ensure aircraft maintenance is efficient, compliant, safe, and high quality.
  • Maintain continuous availability of military aircraft maintenance services so aircraft are operational and ready to fly.
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules and monitor aircraft condition to minimize breakdowns.
  • Monitor materials, spares, and consumables against budgeted assumptions.
  • Review base operational assets for suitability, legislative compliance, and support of organizational objectives.
  • Set employee goals, manage performance, develop staff, and provide feedback.
  • Assist Supply Chain with contractor statements of work and maintain third-party provider relationships.
  • Ensure safety, quality, environmental, reporting, and change-management requirements are implemented across the facility.

Minimum qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor's degree in an aviation discipline or equivalent is required, or a technical diploma with skill level 7-9 QC and Train the Trainer or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) is required.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in an aerospace maintenance and aircraft operating environment is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar position is required.
  • Expertise in maintenance processes and procedures and OEM maintenance manuals is required.
  • Military experience is preferred.

Work setting

  • The role manages maintenance operations at an assigned aircraft operating base and facility.
