Supervisor - Phase Inspection

Role Overview

Aircraft Maintenance

• Lead the overall phase inspection assignment and perform phase and flight-line airframe and powerplant maintenance.
• Lead aircraft ground handling, aircraft configuration, and maintenance of support equipment and special tools.
• Oversee scheduled and unscheduled inspections and maintenance, including survival equipment maintenance.

Workforce and Training

• Supervise and coordinate the hourly inspection workforce and required support personnel.
• Conduct on-the-job training to qualify assigned maintenance personnel.
• Manage staffing levels, attendance, leave, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, disciplinary matters, and daily supervision.

Records and Technical Compliance

• Enter aircraft forms, history records, and other required data into computerized maintenance records.
• Interpret maintenance manuals, diagrams, schematics, blueprints, technical publications, and operational procedures for team members.
• Perform collateral duty inspections and quality assurance inspections and ensure work follows approved technical data.

Planning and Performance

• Review manpower against schedules and ensure sufficient staffing to meet work demands.
• Monitor delivery targets, producibility issues, quality, KPIs, continuous improvement, and required corrective actions.
• Provide progress reporting to the Team Lead and management and communicate strategic KPIs to employees.

Safety and Operations

• Participate in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives beyond normal responsibilities.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures are followed.
• Manage equipment and supply orders, maintain work center cleanliness, and manage contractors on site.

Team Leadership

• Manage, coach, motivate, and develop a high-performing Phase Inspection team.
• Provide technical expertise and promote required standards and behaviours through personal example.
• Ensure the People Strategy is delivered within the area of accountability.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Aviation or equivalent qualification.
• Skill Level 7 certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 6–8 years of phase inspection experience and 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovery processes.
• Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.

Work Environment

• The role involves aircraft maintenance operations, platform activities, and contractor management on site.
