Inspect, maintain, and repair aircraft, with primary responsibility for phase inspections.
Perform crew chief duties and airframe and powerplant general maintenance in phase and flight line environments.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the platform phase inspection assignment and coordinate inspection and maintenance personnel.
- Perform ground handling, aircraft configuration, and management of support equipment and special tools.
- Oversee scheduled and unscheduled inspections and maintenance, including survival equipment.
- Conduct on-the-job training and act as Team Lead during the Team Lead’s absence.
- Supervise workforce levels against schedules and report delivery targets and performance.
- Interpret technical manuals, diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and procedures for team members.
- Maintain computerized aircraft forms and history records and complete collateral quality inspections.
- Manage equipment and supply orders and maintain work-center cleanliness.
- Ensure work meets approved technical data and health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Manage, coach, and develop the Phase Inspection team and review direct-report objectives and performance.
Qualifications and experience
- Diploma in Aviation or equivalent.
- Skill Level 7 certification or equivalent.
- Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- Six to eight years of phase inspection experience and three years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of basic maintenance processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovery processes.
