Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise drilling and maintenance activities for production platform, injection, subsea, and other wells.
- Ensure drilling requirements meet global industry standards and minimize hydrocarbon migration.
- Review well design documents before drilling operations commence.
- Manage and develop well monitoring and surveillance programs.
- Ensure wellbore and wellhead inspection and maintenance requirements are met.
- Review quarterly well abandonment reports, environmental impacts, and mitigation measures.
- Ensure licensees prevent hydrocarbon waste, leakage, and damage to water-bearing and hydrocarbon-bearing formations.
- Review drilling technologies used by licensees and recommend improvements.
- Ensure plugging and abandonment activities are completed for nonproductive wells in accordance with regulations and standards.
- Ensure archaeological remains in operational areas are protected in accordance with required standards and procedures.
- Represent the organization in technical matters with licensees concerning upstream operations and the Hydrocarbons Law.
- Direct reports, manage performance plans, supervise compliance, plan human resources requirements, and assess training needs.
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, administrative sciences, or a specialization related to the field of work.
- A master’s degree in an engineering discipline, administrative sciences, or a specialization related to the field of work is preferred.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the same field of work.
