Job Overview

  • A Waiter is responsible for delivering a flawless, highly sophisticated culinary experience to guests in a high end restaurant.
  • Service is treated as an art form requiring deep culinary knowledge, flawless etiquette, and ability to anticipate guest needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain exhaustive knowledge of menu, ingredients, preparation techniques, culinary origins, allergens, and wine/cocktail pairings.
  • Execute precise service techniques: serving from left, clearing from right, pouring water and wine flawlessly, synchronized table drops.
  • Read the table to tailor service style (e.g., anniversary vs. business dinner); anticipate needs such as replacing dropped napkins or crumbing table.
  • Guide guests through menu, explain chef tasting menus, recommend premium pairings, aperitifs, and digestifs.
  • Communicate seamlessly with kitchen regarding dietary restrictions, pacing requests, and order modifications.
  • Ensure every piece of silverware, crystal glassware, and porcelain plate is spotless and perfectly aligned.
