- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Provide accurate financial forecasts and lead the annual budgeting process across all hotel departments
- Analyze variances between actual results and budgeted/forecasted figures, providing actionable insights
- Ensure compliance with USALI
- Establish, monitor, and enforce robust internal control policies and procedures
- Oversee all audit functions, including internal, external, and government audits
- Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations and financial legislation
- Manage and optimize cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure (CapEx) investments
- Supervise daily operations of the accounting department (AP, AR, Income Audit, Night Audit, Payroll)
- Collaborate with Purchasing and F&B departments to manage inventory controls and food/beverage costing
- Lead, mentor, and develop the hotel finance and accounting team
- Present financial performance reports to hotel owners, investors, and corporate executives
Requirements
- Experience in hotel financial operations and accounting
- Knowledge of USALI (Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry)
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Strong internal control and compliance knowledge

Role Overview
- The Financial Controller is the financial backbone of the hotel, overseeing all financial operations, ensuring strict fiscal discipline, and providing strategic financial leadership.
- Working closely with the General Manager and corporate leadership, the Financial Controller safeguards hotel assets, optimizes profitability, and ensures compliance with accounting standards (such as USALI) and local regulations.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Provide accurate financial forecasts and lead the annual budgeting process across all hotel departments.
- Analyze variances between actual results and budgeted/forecasted figures, providing actionable insights to department heads.
- Ensure compliance with the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Establish, monitor, and enforce robust internal control policies and procedures to protect hotel assets.
- Oversee all audit functions, including internal, external, and government audits.
- Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, licensing laws, and financial legislation.
Operational & Cash Flow Management
- Manage and optimize cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure (CapEx) investments.
- Supervise the daily operations of the accounting department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, Night Audit, and Payroll.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing and F&B departments to manage inventory controls, food/beverage costing, and minimize waste.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop the hotel finance and accounting team.
- Act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and Department Heads to drive revenue and control costs.
- Present financial performance reports directly to hotel owners, investors, and corporate executives.
