About the Role
Bechtel is seeking a Trend Engineer for the Expo 2030 Riyadh project to support cost control and reporting, trend detection, and analysis. The role requires a bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of experience in cost engineering or estimating.

Responsibilities
- Undertake trend detection recording, monitoring, and reporting change to the project management team
- Forecast cost and schedule impacts on budget resulting from trends and then suggesting mitigation plans
- Understand Bechtel trend process and subcontracts/key requirements for changes in contracts
- Assist in analysis of specially assigned change related initiatives or work planning requiring detailed change assessment and response planning efforts
- Support the overall trend program schedule and initiating trend focus meetings through cooperation with all disciplines
- Support the timely preparation of cost estimates
- Prepare and analyse comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between the projects
- Perform productivity analysis of Construction operations and verifies results
- Establish productivity basis to be utilized in estimates, as developed with the concurrence of Construction
- Prepare or supervise the preparation of cost studies utilizing historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons
- Develop innovative new techniques to meet specific needs, as required
- Responsible for developing trend evaluations and issuing reports required by management and project procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 10 years of relevant experience, or 12 14 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of estimating methods, processes, and procedures
- Knowledge and experience in quantity takeoffs, statistical analysis, and cost and price analysis
- Skilled in understanding and implementing technical discipline processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical and financial reports
- Thorough understanding of cost indices and escalation projection sources
- Understands and contributes to risk and contingency assessments
- Skilled in oral and written communications, including presentation skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel – such as lookups, pivot tables, complex graphs
- Knowledge of BETK – Bechtel’s internal estimating software

Project Overview
- Expo 2030 Riyadh is a global platform under the theme 'Foresight for Tomorrow,' promoting sustainable development, innovation, and transformative thinking.
- The event will be held from October 2030 to March 2031, expected to welcome over 40 million visits.
- Bechtel will manage the infrastructure program comprising early works, utilities, and publicly accessible spaces.
