Key Responsibilities

  • Install, test, commission, troubleshoot, and hand over telecommunications systems.
  • Conduct FAT and SAT activities and verify compliance with approved project requirements.
  • Commission telecom systems including CCTV, radio, PA/GA, PABX and IP telephony, telemetry and AIS, access control, LAN/WAN, fiber optics, microwave, network management, and vessel safety systems.
  • Review engineering drawings and deliverables and coordinate technical issue resolution with project stakeholders.
  • Monitor commissioning progress, maintain test and handover records, and support project close-out.
  • Plan site activities and coordinate manpower, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, PTW, risk assessments, HAZID, and SIMOPS requirements.
  • Work on onshore and offshore facilities and travel within Qatar or the Middle East when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering.
  • Twelve to fifteen years of experience in telecommunications system commissioning.
  • At least eight to ten years of experience in Oil and Gas onshore or offshore facilities.
  • Proven FEED and EPIC project experience in Greenfield and Brownfield environments.
  • Hands-on experience in telecom FAT, SAT, installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to review and approve drawings, technical documents, procedures, and contractor deliverables.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications standards and HSE requirements.
  • Experience with risk management, HAZID, and SIMOPS.
  • BOSIET/FOET and CA-EBS certification are required; Basic H2S is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Visio, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.

  • Good communication and technical writing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Workplace and Travel

  • The role covers onshore and offshore facilities in Qatar and may require travel within Qatar or the Middle East.
  • Work includes physical site activities and coordination of site manpower, tools, and equipment.
