- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems
- Conduct regular inspections of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment
- Maintain air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and tools in good condition
- Understand control principles of all AC systems and perform testing, repair, and calibration
- Complete work orders and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) as directed
- Ensure safe working conditions and report unsafe conditions
- Read and understand basic drawings

- Minimum 3 5 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, preferably in hotels or large commercial facilities
- 1 year certificate of competency in electrical and mechanical engineering
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration, chillers, boilers, and ducting
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Knowledge of safety protocols, FLS standards, and preventive maintenance practices

Job Summary
- The HVAC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within the property.
- The role ensures that all HVAC equipment operates efficiently and reliably, maintaining optimal indoor air quality and comfort levels.
- The technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance, monitors system performance, and ensures compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- The HVAC Technician works closely with the Engineering and Facilities teams to support daily operations, energy efficiency initiatives, and emergency response requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Fully understand the principles of Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and apply best practices.
- Attend to maintenance requests and regularly inspect air conditioning & refrigeration equipment; effectively maintain and repair as necessary.
- Maintain air Conditioning & refrigeration equipment and tools in good condition.
- Understand control principles of all AC systems and regularly test, repair and calibrations.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance works as directed and return the completed job sheet to the TL/supervisor or Assistant maintenance manager.
- Complete work orders and PPMs as directed.
- Select correct materials from engineering store by filling/approval of store requisition.
- Organize all tasks in a skilled and professional manner.
- Ensure safe working condition for yourself and your colleagues and report to senior colleagues for unsafe working conditions.
- Advise supervisor promptly of any problems.
- Ensure that work areas are left in a safe working condition.
- Work with own initiative without full time supervision or direction.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- 1 year certificate of competency in electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Desirable with City and Guilds technician certificate in electrical and mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years experience preferably in 5 star hotel.
- Minimum 3 5 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, preferably in hotels, resorts, or large commercial facilities.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and energy efficient HVAC operations.
- Hands on experience with chillers, AHUs and building management systems (BMS) is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration, chillers, boilers, and ducting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, FLS standards, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with engineering and other departments.
