Technical Estimation & Proposal Engineer

Technical support responsibilities

• Review opportunity information, specifications, drawings, and details to determine system design requirements.
• Perform pressure-drop, flow, generator-sizing, and electrical-load calculations.
• Prepare method statements, commercial proposals, technical proposals, and project drawings.
• Prepare layouts, cross sections, construction drawings, and NOC discharge layouts.
• Generate BOQ measurement items and compile cost estimates, schedule-of-rates pricing, and maintenance contract pricing.
• Assist with bid evaluation and monitor industry standards, client requirements, and product developments.
• Recommend cost-effective alternatives and prepare studies to reduce project costs and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate multiple projects, control documentation, and update stakeholders on progress, issues, and delays.
• Visit sites with the applicable Project Engineer and Operations Supervisor when required.
• Generate or direct the preparation of ad hoc AutoCAD drawings.
• Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, sales, operations, warehouse, and accounting teams.

Cross-functional support

• Work with internal stakeholders to identify and resolve risks related to technical solutions, contracts, documentation, and execution.
• Identify problems and opportunities, escalate appropriate matters to the Line Manager, and facilitate discussion.
• Provide marketing support and prepare prequalification documents and customized datasheets.

Qualification requirements

• Degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent qualification from an internationally recognized university.
• Minimum five years of estimation or technical support experience, including framework and maintenance contract tendering.
• GCC experience with exposure to UAE client specifications, authority requirements, and regional supply-chain pricing.
• Proficiency in mechanical fluid dynamics, pump applications, and pump selection.
• Working knowledge of electrical genset systems, sizing, load calculations, and associated ancillaries.
• Strong estimation arithmetic, logical reasoning, quantity take-off, rate build-up, and cost-modelling skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Demonstrable experience managing multiple tender proposals simultaneously.
• Framework agreement and maintenance contract estimation and administration experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment, with flexibility and adaptability.
• Strong multitasking, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
