Cranleigh Abu Dhabi is seeking a passionate and dynamic Science Teacher for a maternity-cover position beginning in January 2027.
The teacher will contribute to classroom teaching, the wider school community, and the co-curricular programme.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, or a bachelor's degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent.
Minimum Experience and Skills
- At least two years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
- Proven success teaching across the age and ability range.
- Experience working in more than one international school is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to the school's vision and mission.
- Passion for education and belief in the potential of every student.
- Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and demonstrate resilience.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively at all levels and develop positive relationships across the school community.
- Work with fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons and liaise flexibly with colleagues.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, curriculum support staff, and external professionals to support students.
Teaching and Learning
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the curriculum and organize resources and classroom displays.
- Plan, prepare, and present lessons tailored to all ability levels.
- Motivate students through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching.
- Observe and assess students, reflect on progress, and adjust planning and provision as needed.
Assessment and Data
- Take responsibility for the academic progress of the class.
- Complete assessment and recording requirements using Target Tracker.
- Use assessment data to inform planning, provision, and intervention.
- Provide feedback to parents and carers during conferences and other meetings.
Behavior and Professional Duties
- Follow the school's behavior policy and manage classes effectively.
- Promote high expectations, self-control, independence, and positive student behavior.
- Participate in curriculum action groups, school events, outings, and activities, including some weekends or evenings.
Safeguarding and Appointment
- Offers of appointment are subject to satisfactory references and police clearance.
