Senior Manager - Group Finance

Role Overview

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline is required.
• A professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive finance experience, including 2-3 years in reporting and managerial roles, is required.
• Group reporting, statutory reporting, audit, consolidation, or multi-entity finance experience is required.
• Education sector experience is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, group reporting, statutory reporting, consolidation, ICFR, and financial controls.
• Ability to execute finance projects, improve processes, and deliver accurate outputs under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and financial presentation skills.
• Strong stakeholder management, business partnering, leadership, coaching, and team-development skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain quality under pressure.

Strategic Responsibilities

• Lead group statutory reporting, management reporting, consolidation, and performance analysis.
• Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, ICFR, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Oversee treasury, banking, liquidity, tax governance, and statutory compliance.
• Support strategic projects, transformation programmes, acquisitions, and key business initiatives.
• Drive IFRS, accounting policy, Delegation of Authority, standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement.

Functional Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Investment Committee packs, Board and Executive Management Team reports, CFO MIS, group reporting packs, and management reports.
• Oversee group financial results, monthly management information, balance sheet schedules, and performance analysis.
• Lead annual statutory reporting and external audit coordination.
• Lead finance ERP requirements and enhancements with Finance, IT, ERP, and Digital stakeholders.
• Lead technical accounting assessments and implementation of new IFRS standards.
• Support FP&A validation, insurance declarations, completion accounts, purchase price allocation, and complex transaction assessments.

Treasury and Tax

• Oversee treasury activities and banking operations with appropriate authorisation and segregation of duties.
• Oversee tax reporting and compliance, including returns, payments, refunds, and statutory filings.
• Provide backup support to Tax and Treasury functions for business continuity.
