Aldar Academies is seeking a Teacher - Psychology for a maternity-cover position at Bateen World Academy commencing January 2027.

Bateen World Academy is a British and IB World School offering PYP, Diploma Programme, and Career-related Programme pathways.

Minimum qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor's degree in education or another relevant field with a teaching qualification is required.
  • At least 2 years of specialist-subject teaching experience up to GCSE and A Level is desirable but not essential.

  • Previous experience working with students whose first language is not English.
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.

Teaching responsibilities

  • Create a climate conducive to outstanding learning and teaching.
  • Identify teaching objectives and specify how lessons will be taught and assessed.
  • Set challenging tasks, demanding expectations, and clear targets based on prior attainment.
  • Identify students with special educational needs and highly able students.
  • Provide clear lesson structures that maintain pace, motivation, and challenge.
  • Use assessment and performance data to plan differentiated learning and monitor progress.
  • Maintain effective standards for learning, behaviour, punctuality, work, and homework.
  • Mark work, set progress targets, assess students, and maintain systematic records.
  • Prepare reports for parents and complete assessments requested by examination bodies.

Academy contribution and compliance

  • Contribute to subject or academy development plans and whole-academy visioning activities.
  • Comply with health and safety, equal opportunities, safeguarding, performance management, dress code, computer use, and attendance policies.
  • Attend staff briefings and required training, including child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety training.
