- Conduct feasibility studies for clinical applications, including user requirements gathering, impact analysis, and current/future state analysis.
- Develop specifications for complex clinical application systems, translating user requirements into technical system requirements and documenting functionality.
- Implement system changes and break fixes following change control and incident management processes.
- Develop specifications, build system activities, and perform modification and enhancement tasks using tools such as Visual Studio, Powerhouse, Oracle Developer, PowerBuilder, and Crystal Reports.
- Measure and document system performance metrics, transaction volumes, and response times; liaise with vendors and users for capacity planning.
- Support system upgrades and implementations including testing (unit, functional, regression, UAT), data conversion, and go live planning.
- Assemble, create, and maintain information systems technical and operational documentation.
- Assist with preparation of Requests for Information/Proposal and evaluation of vendor responses.
- Provide system support to users, troubleshooting software problems and recommending optimum use of application software.
- Provide training related to clinical application systems to other IMITS staff.
Requirements
- Graduation from a recognized diploma or degree program in Computer Science or Health Information Science, plus three years of recent related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the historic and ongoing impacts of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples in social and health contexts.
- Ability to organize work and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- May be required to travel and/or participate in an on call rotation.

Overview
- Within IMITS lower mainland consolidated area (VPPL), the Systems Analyst, Clinical Solutions reports to the Manager and works independently in a multi site healthcare environment.
- Develops and maintains complex clinical application systems using SQL, clinical information systems, EMR applications, and MS Office.
- Provides technical direction, systems support, and carries out analysis, documentation, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of clinical systems.
What You’ll Do

- Assemble, create, and maintain information systems technical and operational documentation.

- Provide training related to clinical application systems to other IMITS staff.
- Maintain good working relationship with application/technical vendor; liaise for troubleshooting and remediation.
- Attend team meetings, participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized diploma or degree program in Computer Science or Health Information Science, plus three years of recent related experience, or equivalent combination.
- May be required to travel and/or participate in an on call rotation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of historic and ongoing impacts of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples in social and health contexts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislative obligations and provincial commitments within PDHIS contexts (TRC, In Plain Sight, UNDRIP, etc.).
- Ability to organize work, communicate effectively, deal with others effectively, and physical ability to carry out duties.
- Demonstrates commitment to personal learning journey related to Indigenous specific racism and dismantling systems of oppression.

Schedule
- Temporary, Full Time (Until August 2027).
- Monday to Friday 08:00 16:00; on call may be required.
Compensation
- CAD 49.03 / hour.
