Position Summary

  • The Senior Business Analyst is responsible to lead and manage systems services projects within BC Emergency Health Services that are provincial in nature.
  • Manages systems services projects including development and implementation of strategic systems plans and ensures operational, development and technical support are in accordance with signed Service Level Agreements.
  • Projects are initiated and managed through all phases: feasibility study, business design, system design, development, testing and implementation of large and complex projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the provision of systems services to clients: manage service provision, act as advocate, participate in feasibility studies, budget development, contract preparation, coordination with external users, develop SLAs and business plans, assess alternatives, ensure solutions meet requirements.
  • Act as Internal Information Systems expert and consultant: provide leadership in innovative IM/IT use, influence client management, communicate and market business solutions.
  • Manage strategic business and technical infrastructure projects: initiate projects, select and lead staff, provide technical leadership, prepare RFI/RFP, provide project management, facilitate working groups, determine resource requirements, conduct quality control.
  • Perform business process re engineering and analysis: evaluate requirements, collect and analyze business/information processes, identify opportunities for improvement, analyze workflows, prepare cost benefit and risk analyses, initiate automation projects.
  • Perform an Application Analyst role: use Information Engineering principles, identify security and quality control measures, develop test plans, facilitate change management, evaluate documentation, analyze operation problems using SQL, develop recommendations, provide training.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science, four years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the historic and ongoing impacts of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples in social and health contexts.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the historic and ongoing impacts of settler colonialism and systemic racism on Indigenous Peoples.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments within BC Emergency Health Services contexts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to write programs in a variety of programming languages.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
