Overview

  • The Specialist, Virtual Health leads complex research and analysis to support the Office of Virtual Health (OVH) team in leading PHSA virtual health initiatives.
  • The scope includes gaining extensive knowledge in virtual health to provide technical expertise and support overall goals, objectives and operations of OVH.
  • The Specialist is engaged in multiple initiatives, supporting people readiness planning, business requirements gathering, and project execution.
  • Leads change management and process design within the VH portfolio.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate business requirements by collaborating with the OVH team to engage clinical/program operation owners, key stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Provide leadership on technical work streams and processes and supports and mentor the OVH Business Analyst.
  • Provide specialized analysis of operational problems and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Facilitate consensus on issues, including business design features, program changes, data requirements, privacy issues and reports.
  • Develop business requirements specifications, project proposals, business cases, project summaries and other related documentation.
  • Coordinate and support stakeholder engagement in project planning and implementation.
  • Develop plans for projects to ensure on time delivery of projects and support adoption, optimization and sustainment.
  • Analyze data (qualitative and quantitative) to inform evaluation of Virtual Health initiatives.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external partners, including IMITS, Privacy, Supply Chain, potential vendors.
  • Perform feasibility studies, workload efficiency analyses, including identifying system deficiencies, operational inefficiencies.
  • Participate in various operational and project committees and teams to facilitate and lead various initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Informatics, or a related discipline plus a minimum of five (5) years’ recent related experience including three (3) years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in Virtual Health and healthcare preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the historic and ongoing impacts of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples in social and health contexts.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the historic and ongoing impacts of settler colonialism and systemic racism on Indigenous Peoples.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments within Office of Virtual Health contexts.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terminology.
  • Ability to understand and clearly relate technical information to internal and external members of the organization.
  • Understands business analysis and project management methodology.
  • Superior ability in presentation, facilitation, negotiation and issue management/escalation.
  • Ability to facilitate and encourage cooperation between diverse operational groups and skill sets.
  • Strong skills and experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project, Access), SharePoint and Visio, Crystal reports and other Business Intelligence Tools.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to beginning and/or continuing their personal learning journey related to Indigenous specific racism.

Salary Range

  • CAD 76,111 CAD 109,409 /year.
