About the Role
BC Emergency Health Services is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead and manage systems services projects that are provincial in nature. Responsibilities
- Manage the provision of systems services to clients, ensuring they meet Service Level Agreements.
- Manage and participate in the preparation of feasibility studies, requirements analysis and business design documents.
- Develop Service Level Agreements and business plans for BCEHS and external clients.
- Act as Internal Information Systems expert and consultant to ensure effective use of IM/IT.
- Manage strategic business and technical infrastructure projects including scope definition, resource acquisition, and business case development.
- Perform business process re engineering and analysis, preparing recommendations for workflow changes.
- Perform an Application Analyst role using Information Engineering principles.
Requirements
- Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science
- Four years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to write programs in a variety of programming languages
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment

Job Summary
- The Senior Business Analyst is responsible to lead and manage systems services projects within BC Emergency Health Services that are provincial in nature.
- Projects are initiated and managed through all phases: feasibility study, business design, system design, development, testing and implementation.
Duties/Accountabilities
- Manages the provision of systems services to clients.
- Manages and participates in the preparation of feasibility studies, requirements analysis and business design documents.
- Participates in the budget development process and assignment of priorities.
- Prepares contract specifications for development/special projects; negotiate and administer contracts.
- Provides coordination and liaison with external users of systems.
- Develops Service Level Agreements and business plans.
- Assesses alternatives and determines requirements to meet client business objectives.
- Acts as Internal Information Systems expert and consultant.
- Manages strategic business and technical infrastructure projects.
- Performs business process re engineering and analysis.
- Performs an Application Analyst role.
- Develops and maintains programs to pass technology related knowledge to BCEHS staff.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science.
- Four years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
