Role Overview
TGP International is seeking an experienced Sushi Cook to join its kitchen team in Doha.
This is a hands-on production role in a busy restaurant environment focused on quality, speed, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare maki rolls and other varieties of sushi.
- Roll and slice sushi and fish accurately and consistently.
- Prepare sushi rice and organize ingredients, fillings, sauces, and garnishes.
- Follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Maintain quality, taste, portion, and presentation consistency.
- Handle, store, and rotate fresh fish and other ingredients properly.
- Maintain hygiene, food safety, and a clean sushi preparation area.
- Work efficiently during busy periods and minimize food waste.
- Coordinate with the Head Chef and kitchen team during daily operations.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of practical experience as a Sushi Cook or in a similar position.
- Strong hands-on experience with sushi rolling and slicing.
- Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, sushi rice, and Japanese or Asian ingredients.
- Good understanding of food hygiene, food handling, and kitchen safety.
- Valid Health & Safety or Food Safety Certificate.
- Transferable Iqama or Qatar residency documentation.
- Currently based in Doha, Qatar and available to join immediately.
- Able to work in a professional kitchen under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Japanese, Asian, fusion, or high-volume restaurant operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of different sushi rolls and modern sushi presentation is preferred.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and maintain consistency is preferred.
