About the Role

Responsibilities
- Implement approved departmental policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls for Safety
- Supervise day to day operations of the Safety department to ensure compliance with policies
- Supervise incident investigation process and undertake investigations and reporting of Safety incidents
- Plan, organise and conduct Safety training courses to promote Safety awareness
- Control and coordinate maintenance and testing of Safety protection systems
- Develop and initiate routine evaluations of the workplace to identify non conformance
- Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies
- Supervise activities of subordinates like EHS representatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science or NEBOSH diploma
- 2 4 years relevant experience in Safety in a similar manufacturing industry
- Thorough knowledge of Safety management systems and international Safety standards
- Good communication skills
- Good written and spoken English
- Excellent interpersonal and customer focused skills
- Good time management and priority setting skills

Job Purpose
- To monitor and assist in the effective implementation of EGA’s corporate Safety control/protection strategic plans, policies and programs across assigned plant operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Implements approved departmental policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls for Safety.
- Supervises the implementation of day to day operations for the Safety department.
- Supervises the effective implementation of the incident investigation process and undertakes investigations and reporting.
- Plan, organise and conduct Safety training courses to promote Safety awareness.
- Control and coordinate maintenance and testing of Safety protection systems.
- Develop and initiate routine evaluations of the workplace to identify non conformance.
- Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies.
- Supervises the activities and work of subordinates like EHS representatives.
- Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science or NEBOSH diploma.
- 2 4 years relevant experience in Safety in a similar manufacturing industry.
- Thorough knowledge of Safety management systems and international Safety standards.
