Staff Engineering Technician - Structural(1 year contract)

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Develop and modify technical deliverables under general direction.
• Use CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling tools to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
• Apply standards, systems, document control practices, departmental guides, applicable codes, and company procedures.
• Review project requirements and determine the correct format and contents of required deliverables.
• Apply quality-program practices, support continuous improvement, and contribute to change management.
• Review design inputs and deliverables for consistency and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Develop moderately complex design concepts and deliverables using established engineering practices.
• Perform design calculations, detailed material quantities and estimates, and related records.
• Review others’ deliverables and provide technical guidance to engineering professionals and technicians.
• Define work assignments, maintain schedules, and coordinate design information with other design personnel.
• Support field activities and may participate in plant start-up activities or control-systems programming.
• Share knowledge of current technologies and processes while considering internal and external client needs.

Qualifications

• Typically a minimum of 5 years of related work experience is required.
• A diploma or certificate is preferred.
• An associate degree in drafting or an engineering design-related technology is preferred.
• Selected applicants must complete applicable pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include background, drug, and motor vehicle checks.
