Role Overview

Associate Engineer - Mechanical Systems Engineer position with Black & Veatch in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

The role develops technical specialization under general supervision and handles increasingly complex engineering assignments.

Work Arrangement

Core Responsibilities

  • Apply departmental design guides, engineering standards, applicable codes, and company procedures to assigned tasks.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables, equipment and material recommendations, calculations, and managed engineering data.
  • Support quality programs, continuous improvement, change management, budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with project leadership, internal and external teams, clients, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Assign tasks to entry-level professionals and interns, provide guidance, and mentor developing staff.
  • Support business development activities and share current technology and process knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
  • At least 4 years of related work experience.
  • Applicants must complete applicable pre-employment onboarding requirements if selected.

Technical Experience

  • Experience in system or process engineering for coal, open-cycle, or combined-cycle thermal power generation plants.
  • Ability to perform pipe, pump, control valve, heat exchanger, and atmospheric tank sizing calculations.
  • Experience developing and drafting P&IDs in Bentley OPPID, SPPID, or similar tools.
  • Experience with vendor pre-bid RFPs, bid clarifications, bid evaluations, post-bid document reviews, and technical coordination.
  • Design experience with power block and balance of plant systems, including utility, steam, feedwater, condensate, gas, and cooling systems.
