Job Summary
Functions in a project engineering technician capacity supporting engineering and design teams.
Develops and modifies technical deliverables using established engineering and design practices.
Uses CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling tools to create and maintain drawings and project deliverables.
Provides technical guidance to engineering professionals and technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and model piping systems, equipment layouts, and pipe supports in AVEVA E3D.
- Produce general arrangement drawings, isometric drawings, and material take-offs.
- Conduct interdisciplinary checks and clash detection and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate integrated design solutions with structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to piping designers and engineers.
- Coordinate design tasks with project teams and meet project deadlines.
- Conduct piping studies based on design bases and equipment layouts.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in AVEVA E3D; AutoCAD knowledge is beneficial.
- Familiarity with piping design, ASME, ANSI, ISO, and piping system design best practices.
- Ability to model piping, generate drawings, understand stress requirements, and interpret equipment datasheets.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, independent work, and task-management abilities.
Qualifications
- The description cites 10-19 years of piping design experience, particularly in oil and gas.
- Minimum qualification is typically at least 5 years of related work experience.
- A diploma or certificate is preferred.
- An associate degree in drafting or engineering design technology is preferred.
