Role Overview

Technical Design and Engineering

• Prepare and review detailed I&C engineering deliverables for FLNG facilities.
• Develop instrument location plans, instrument installation details, cable routing layouts, cable schedules, junction box layouts, and interconnection diagrams.
• Develop loop drawings, hook-up drawings, control room layouts, marshalling cabinet layouts, and telecommunications and fire and gas system drawings.
• Perform cable tray sizing, design calculations, material take-offs, and quantity estimates.
• Support resource planning, scheduling, package reviews, IHR layout reviews, interdisciplinary coordination, and client and project coordination.
• Participate in 30%, 60%, and 90% model reviews, including drive model review activities.
• Use SmartPlant, Aveva E3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks, BIM, and 3D modeling platforms.
• Review engineering inputs and outputs for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, company procedures, international codes, and client standards.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to designers and engineering technicians.

Required Technical Knowledge

• Instrumentation design for LNG and FLNG facilities.
• Knowledge of DCS, PLC, SIS, ESD, fire and gas, SCADA, and telecommunications systems.
• Knowledge of hazardous area classification requirements.
• Knowledge of instrument installation and field construction practices.
• Knowledge of cable engineering and routing methodologies.
• Knowledge of control system architecture development.
• Knowledge of IEC, ISA, API, NFPA, and project-specific engineering standards.
• Experience with 3D model review and clash resolution processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or associate degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Typically 15 or more years of relevant I&C design and engineering technician experience is preferred.
• Experience in LNG, FLNG, offshore, oil and gas, or large industrial projects is preferred.
• Experience with multidisciplinary detail engineering projects is preferred.
