Senior Engineering Technician - Piping

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and model piping systems, equipment layouts, and pipe supports within AVEVA E3D.
• Produce general arrangement drawings, isometric drawings, and material take-offs.
• Conduct interdisciplinary checks and clash detection to resolve design discrepancies.
• Work with structural, electrical, instrumentation, and other design disciplines.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to piping designers and engineers.
• Coordinate design tasks with project teams and deadlines.
• Conduct piping studies based on design bases and equipment layouts.

Technical Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in AVEVA E3D is required; knowledge of AutoCAD is beneficial.
• Familiarity with piping design, ASME, ANSI, ISO, and piping system design best practices.
• Ability to model piping, generate drawings, and understand stress requirements and equipment datasheets.
• Experience with CAD, BIM, 3D modeling, and technical documentation.

Experience and Education

• The role states 20 or more years of piping design experience, particularly in the oil and gas sectors.
• Minimum qualifications state typically 11 years of related work experience.
• An associate degree in drafting or engineering design-related technology is preferred.
• A bachelor degree in engineering design-related technology is preferred.
