Sr. Technical Support Engineer

The role

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support for SSE solutions and troubleshoot complex geoscience-related issues.
• Deliver training classes on AspenTech subsurface products.
• Help customers maximize their use of the software for geoscience and upstream workflows.
• Optimize customer geoscience workflows and improve business outcomes using SSE tools.
• Assist with pre-sales consultations and position products for geoscience applications.
• Provide feedback to internal R&D teams to drive product improvements.
• Conduct pre-release software testing.
• Develop training materials and white papers for the knowledge base.
• Travel to customer sites as needed, typically less than 25%.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Petrophysics, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of geoscience workflows and subsurface modeling techniques with upstream workflow experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a customer-first mindset.

Preferred qualifications

• A master's degree is a plus.
• Experience with AspenTech products or similar advanced software is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Carbon Capture and Storage or Geothermal workflows is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to lasting customer relationships.
• Willingness to travel for customer engagements, including international travel, is preferred.
