About Lucid

Lucid develops software-defined electric vehicles through vertically integrated design, engineering and production teams.

The company’s vehicles emphasize performance, sustainability, design, range and technology.

Position Overview

The Senior Engineer, Suspension Structures provides technical leadership and hands-on engineering support for suspension structural systems through vehicle launch, production ramp-up and series manufacturing.

The role is the primary plant engineering focal point for knuckles, control arms, subframes, links, bushings, wheel carriers and related structural chassis components.

The engineer works with Design Engineering, CAE, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supplier Quality, Purchasing and Plant Operations.

The role supports vehicle quality, safety, durability, NVH performance, manufacturing efficiency, production issue resolution, launch support and continuous improvement.

Production Support and Issue Resolution

  • Serve as the plant technical expert for suspension structural components and compliant joints.
  • Investigate vehicle build, fit-up, dimensional, durability, corrosion and quality concerns.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for manufacturing, supplier and field issues.
  • Implement containment and permanent corrective actions and support production escalations.

Launch and Program Support

  • Support prototype, DV, PV and production vehicle builds.
  • Coordinate engineering change releases and plant implementation plans.
  • Track launch issues through timely closure.
  • Support vehicle build events and launch reviews.

Dimensional and Manufacturing Engineering

  • Support dimensional variation analysis and build quality improvement activities.
  • Investigate stack-up, tolerance and alignment issues.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve assembly robustness.
  • Support poka-yoke and process improvements and reduce chassis-related rework and scrap.

Supplier Quality and Improvement

  • Support validation sign-off and production readiness reviews.
  • Lead technical reviews with suspension structure suppliers for quality, production, dimensional and durability concerns.
  • Support supplier containment, corrective actions, audits and launch readiness reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement with suppliers and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Develop predictive quality monitoring strategies using production and warranty data.

Sustaining Engineering

  • Design and develop automotive chassis components and assemblies for performance, NVH, durability, manufacturability and cost.
  • Work with core engineering and attribute owners across vehicle safety, vehicle dynamics, NVH, durability, manufacturing and design.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, product development, purchasing, supplier quality and suppliers on tooling and component changes.

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of suspension systems, structural chassis components and vehicle dynamics fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge of durability engineering, manufacturing processes, GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Proficiency with structured root-cause analysis and corrective action methods.
  • Working knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA and DVP&R processes.
