Position Overview
The Manager, Powertrain Production Operations owns end-to-end 24/7 production execution across Drive Unit and high-voltage battery assembly shops at AMP-2.
The role establishes the production organization at a greenfield facility from commissioning through volume ramp-up and beyond start of production.
The role is accountable for safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, disciplined change control, launch evidence, problem solving, and workforce capability transfer.
Strategic Production Leadership
- Own production execution across all shifts and deliver committed volume, OEE, First Pass Yield, and cost-per-unit targets.
- Own labor, overtime, consumables, and conversion cost performance.
- Build the production organization, including shift managers, supervisors, team leads, and operators.
Launch Governance and Ramp-Up
- Govern Safe Launch, run-at-rate, and capacity verification through start of production and volume ramp-up.
- Chair launch readiness reviews, layered process audits, and process confirmation routines.
- Lead QRQC and War Room escalation during launch and ramp-up.
Operational Excellence
- Define and govern Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, and Environment production KPIs.
- Lead tiered accountability and daily management routines across the Powertrain shop.
- Drive structured problem solving, QRQC closure, and S&OP coordination with Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering.
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce HV LOTO, HVIL continuity, and mandatory HV PPE for work on or near electric vehicle powertrain equipment.
- Comply with SASO, Saudi MOL, IEC 60204, ISO 13849, and IEC 62061 requirements.
- Support thermal runaway isolation and battery-related incident procedures.
Continuous Improvement and Culture
- Champion standardized work, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and cost-per-unit reduction.
- Establish a safety-first, quality-focused, high-performance culture.
- Sponsor projects targeting cycle time, First Pass Yield, OEE, and conversion cost improvement.
Enterprise Operations and Governance
- Establish the operating system, organization design, shift model, span of control, competency architecture, and escalation model.
- Own the annual operating plan, manpower, conversion cost, overtime, consumables, and productivity roadmap.
- Build succession, engagement, performance, and Saudization plans with measurable capability transfer.
Change Control and Readiness
- Support factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, equipment acceptance, Safe Launch, run-at-rate, and capacity verification.
- Control production, process, software, and test changes through documented risk assessment, approval, validation, revision history, and rollback or containment planning.
