Sr Engineering Technician- Structural (Offshore E3D)

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Communicates and may set appropriate design and graphic standards.
• Reviews project requirements and design inputs to determine deliverable formats, contents, and consistency.
• Promotes quality, drawing control, historical records, continuous improvement, and change management.
• Ensures deliverables comply with project-specific codes and standards.
• Applies engineering principles and established design practices to develop complex design concepts and deliverables.
• Makes judgments about deliverables and interpretation of design inputs.
• Performs design calculations, detailed material quantities, estimates, and records.
• Reviews deliverables, coordinates presentations, delegates production design, and may monitor production against budget and schedule.
• Coordinates with design personnel to exchange project information needed for design development.
• May program control systems, participate in plant start-up activities, or support field activities.
• Communicates project requirements, progress, and schedules and addresses client interests and drivers.
• Identifies training needs, provides technical guidance, conducts training, and completes specialized assignments.

Qualifications

• Typically a minimum of 11 years of related work experience.
• Associate degree in drafting or an engineering design-related technology preferred.
• Bachelor degree in an engineering design-related technology preferred.
• Ability to handle difficult technical assignments and provide technical guidance to other professionals.
• Ability to communicate design requirements, project progress, and schedules.
• Ability to identify client interests and develop approaches that accommodate client concerns.
• Ability to make presentations and conduct training classes within a specialized area of expertise.
