Role Overview
The Sous Chef - Emirati Cuisine is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi.
The role supports the Head Chef and leads kitchen operations focused on authentic Emirati dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to maintain consistent taste, presentation, and portioning.
- Manage daily kitchen activities, including supervising staff and organizing workstations.
- Monitor food safety and hygiene practices.
- Contribute to menu development and coordinate with front-of-house teams for smooth service.
- Maintain inventory, order supplies, and support food cost and waste control.
- Train and mentor kitchen team members while promoting collaboration and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong professional kitchen experience focused on Emirati cuisine and regional flavors is required.
- Experience with kitchen operations, staff supervision, shift planning, and workflow coordination is required.
- Food preparation, cooking, knife skills, portion control, plating, and quality control skills are required.
- Relevant culinary education or certification is preferred.
- UAE hotel, restaurant, or catering experience is advantageous.
- Flexibility for shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended periods standing is required.
