Role Overview
Execute essential shipping and receiving activities in a warehouse environment.
Support warehouse efficiency through systems, documentation, dock coordination, equipment, databases, and administrative processes.
Shipping and Receiving
- Maintain warehouse management systems and perform inbound and outbound CMMS/ILVS functions.
- Manage receiving and shipping documents and address discrepancies between materials received and packing lists.
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and inbound drivers about loads, materials, unloading locations, and status.
Warehouse Administration
- Manage scanner and battery allocations and troubleshoot equipment problems.
- Maintain databases covering training, process walks, performance, attendance, compliance, errors, and training history.
- Communicate performance issues to management.
Hiring and Office Support
- Manage warehouse hiring activities, including applications, interviews, sequencing, drug testing, paperwork, and the Ceridian hiring system.
- Answer and direct calls, take messages, check voicemail, and order office and warehouse supplies.
Education
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Skills and Characteristics
- Ability to manage warehouse traffic so trucks reach the correct docks at the correct time.
- Computer proficiency.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills.
