Lead a team of system administrators and manage the administration of applications and services.
Own service availability, performance, security, incident resolution, change delivery, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead administrators through direction, goal setting, performance evaluation, delegation, and team development.
- Administer, configure, and manage applications, services, application servers, databases, middleware, and related components.
- Manage incidents, investigate recurring issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Plan and implement changes with testing, documentation, and communication.
- Manage vendors and third-party service providers and coordinate support activities.
- Monitor performance and utilization and implement tuning measures.
- Ensure security, privacy, and regulatory compliance for applications and services.
- Maintain technical documentation and report on team performance, incidents, and service levels.
- Drive process improvement, automation, and optimization initiatives.
Skills
- Strong technical understanding of operating systems, databases, networks, and managed applications and services.
- Team leadership and administrator management.
- Complex technical problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
- Verbal and written communication with stakeholders and departments.
- Planning and organization of projects, tasks, and resources.
- Adaptability to changes in technology, processes, and priorities.
- Strong documentation practices for configurations, changes, and incidents.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 6 years of experience in the same or a related field.
