- Licensed to practice law in the UAE and admitted to practice as a solicitor or called to the bar in the UK, US or another common law jurisdiction, or as a lawyer in another Middle East country
- Strong writing skills and a passion for writing about legal practice accurately, concisely and in plain English
- Experience of using AI tools in legal work

Role Overview
- As a Senior Specialist Legal Editor in Practical Law, you will use your legal knowledge of, and experience in, litigation law and practice to create and maintain a wide range of content and to support the development of Thomson Reuters AI powered legal solutions.
Major responsibilities/accountabilities
- Research, write and maintain clear, current, and practical legal content aligned with market practice and customer needs, and business objectives.
- Review and edit content written by others, whether by colleagues or external expert contributors.
- Keep up to date with legal, practice and market developments to ensure content remains accurate, relevant and aligned with business objectives.
- Use your legal expertise to support the development of customer focused Thomson Reuters' AI powered legal solutions.
- Use your legal expertise and editorial skills to support the development and application of internal AI editorial tools.
- Develop and maintain relationships with lawyers and industry groups to ensure content reflects current market practice.
- Use your specialist legal knowledge to assist the wider Thomson Reuters team, working with product management, sales, marketing, and technology functions where necessary.
About You
- At least 5 years post qualification experience in litigation practice (at a law firm or in house) with recent substantial experience (at a law firm or in house) in the United Arab Emirates.
- Proficiency in written and spoken Arabic with business level written and spoken English.
- Strong writing skills, and a passion for writing about legal practice accurately, concisely and in plain English.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively independently and in teams.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to effectively utilise various tools, including generative AI technologies, to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work on diverse projects and tasks within the generative AI space as well as new and emerging technologies.
- A curious mindset, including about the increasing intersection of AI and legal practice, adaptable and open to change.
- Experience of using AI tools in legal work.
Education/Certification Required
- Licensed to practice law in the UAE and admitted to practice either: as a solicitor or called to the bar in the UK, US or another common law jurisdiction; or as a lawyer in another Middle East country.
Desirable skills and experience
- Some knowledge of Arbitration law/practice
