Senior Software Engineer - Python

Job Purpose

Responsibilities

• Contribute to technical design by analyzing application requirements.
• Convert technical solutions into low-level designs and working code.
• Write secure, optimized code using approved standards.
• Participate in rotational on-call support and resolve production issues within SLAs.
• Ensure built-in quality and 100% unit testing in the CI/CD pipeline.
• Analyze and fix defects with minimal rework.
• Apply refactoring practices to reduce code debt.
• Implement logging and monitoring hooks.
• Stay current with relevant technologies and improve code quality.
• Follow engineering standards and contribute to playbooks and standards documents.

Qualifications

• A degree or honours qualification in computer science, computational mathematics, computer engineering, software engineering, or a relevant equivalent field.
• At least 3 years of backend application development experience, primarily in Java 8 or later with microservices capability.
• Experience with the listed backend, data engineering, machine learning, testing, quality, and monitoring technologies.
• Proven machine learning capability.

Technology Stack

• Backend technologies include Django, REST Framework, GraphQL, restQL, Solace, Gunicorn, and NGINX.
• Data engineering and big data frameworks include Apache Beam, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Airflow, and Ray.
• Data science and machine learning tools include SciKit-Learn, TensorFlow, Pandas, Numpy, matplotlib, Anaconda, and Conda environments.
• Automation testing, quality, and monitoring tools include PyTest, SonarQube, PEP8, and Dynatrace.
