Job Purpose

The Material Management Department manages aviation material needs across cabin, IFE, airframe, engines, inventory control, operations support, rotable components, and outstation support.

The Procurement Officer supports purchasing materials and services required by Engineering to maintain aircraft dispatch reliability.

Procurement and Supply Chain Duties

  • Source, purchase, and arrange borrowing of aircraft materials, BFE, retrofit and modification materials, and breakdown spares.
  • Monitor overdue orders, backlogs, vendor performance, and supply chain KPIs.
  • Conduct price and lead-time reviews and challenge supplier deviations from contractual agreements.
  • Resolve invoice and stores discrepancies with internal stakeholders and vendors.

Purchasing and Systems

  • Analyze supply chain data and prepare recommendations for operational efficiency, cost control, and KPI performance.
  • Participate in purchasing system selection, testing, training, and implementation.
  • Prepare RFQs, evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and place purchase orders within approved authority limits.
  • Process engineering-related service orders and coordinate invoice payments.

BFE and Supplier Management

  • Review and validate BFE requirements for new aircraft deliveries and retrofit programmes.
  • Monitor BFE orders through delivery and invoice clearance against project timelines.
  • Maintain supplier and internal stakeholder relationships to support on-time delivery, cost optimization, and problem resolution.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Honours qualification equivalent to 12+3 education.
  • Five years of experience in engineering planning, supply chain, materials management, or procurement; candidates with at least 2.5 years may be considered.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance philosophies, operational practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Supply chain experience in warehouse and logistics, repair management, material planning, material support, inventory control, or technical purchasing is preferred.
  • Airline or Maintenance Repair Organisation experience is advantageous.
