1. Quality Assurance & Control
- Oversee daily water quality testing (chemical, physical, and microbiological) in accordance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Monitor treatment processes (filtration, chlorination, disinfection, fluoride adjustment, etc.) to ensure compliance.
- Review, trend, and interpret laboratory data and initiate corrective actions when deviations occur.
- Conduct quality inspections on finished water, packaging materials (if bottled), and distribution pipelines.
2. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international standards (e.g., WHO, EPA, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP).
- Prepare documentation and reports for regulatory bodies, health departments, and certification agencies.
- Lead internal and external audits, facilitating corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA).
3. Operations Oversight
- Work closely with production, maintenance, and distribution teams to ensure quality is maintained at every stage.
- Validate sanitation and hygiene procedures for plant equipment, tanks, and pipelines.
- Oversee calibration and maintenance of testing instruments and laboratory equipment.
4. Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
- Identify potential risks in water treatment, bottling, and distribution processes.
- Lead root-cause analysis for quality deviations and recurring issues.
- Develop and update SOPs, quality manuals, and process control documents.
- Initiate improvement projects aimed at optimizing quality, reducing waste, and increasing efficiency.
5. Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise and mentor quality technicians and laboratory staff.
- Conduct training on GMP, water safety protocols, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Build a culture of quality awareness across the plant.
