Job Purpose
Lead and deliver major upstream oil and gas projects from concept development through execution, commissioning, and handover.
Manage EPC/EPCM projects so they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Project Delivery
- Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery.
- Manage multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
- Oversee scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and HSE performance.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Review engineering deliverables, procurement strategies, and construction plans.
- Manage project reporting, progress reviews, executive presentations, contract administration, and change management.
- Support commissioning, startup, and handover activities.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, Petroleum, or related engineering discipline.
- 15+ years of overall project management experience.
- 10 years of upstream oil and gas project experience is mandatory.
- Experience managing large-scale upstream facilities, brownfield developments, and greenfield developments.
- Strong EPC/EPCM project delivery experience.
- Experience managing projects valued at USD 100M or more is preferred.
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of upstream oil and gas operations and facilities.
- Familiarity with project controls, cost management, planning, scheduling, and risk management.
- Knowledge of international standards, HSE requirements, and quality management systems.
- Experience with contract management and claims management.
Skills and Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership, stakeholder management, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
- Strong commercial and contractual acumen.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- A Master's degree or PMP certification is preferred.
- Middle East or GCC upstream project experience is preferred.
- PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Experience with ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, Qatar Energy, KOC, PDO, or similar operators is preferred.
