The Construction Manager will lead site construction activities for EPC Power & Digital projects.
The scope includes power, electrical, telecommunications, ICT, ELV, smart infrastructure, and digital transformation projects.
The role is accountable for schedule, budget, quality, safety, contractual, testing, commissioning, and handover outcomes.
Construction management
- Lead construction activities and supervise site teams, subcontractors, vendors, and resources.
- Align execution with approved engineering designs, specifications, and project requirements.
- Monitor productivity, progress, risks, milestones, and project objectives.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, QA/QC, and HSE teams.
- Develop construction strategies, work plans, and execution methodologies.
- Review schedules, manpower plans, and equipment deployment.
Quality, compliance, and safety
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, client requirements, local regulations, international codes, and contracts.
- Conduct inspections and audits and review method statements, ITPs, and work procedures.
- Promote site safety, conduct toolbox talks and HSE audits, and investigate incidents.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality, safety, and delivery issues.
Stakeholders and handover
- Act as the primary construction focal point for clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Present construction progress updates and provide technical guidance.
- Support contract administration and claims-management activities.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning and oversee handover, punch-list, and close-out activities.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is required.
- PMP or equivalent project-management certification is preferred.
- OSHA, NEBOSH, or another HSE certification is advantageous.
- At least 15 years of EPC construction experience is required.
- At least 8 years as a Construction Manager on large-scale Power & Digital infrastructure projects is required.
- GCC or Middle East project experience is highly preferred.
Technical competencies
- Experience with power generation, distribution, and HV/MV substations.
- Experience with ICT, telecommunications, fiber optic, ELV, security, data-center, smart-city, and digital infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and construction-management tools.
- Knowledge of QA/QC, HSE, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and relevant local codes.
