Responsibilities
- Create successful mid term merchandising strategies (2 4 year plans) across all business units for assigned categories
- Mentor, train, and support Associate PLMs and PLMs across the team
- Partner with Merchandising and Planning teams to execute product categories and deliver brand vision and sales goals
- Determine and manage product lifecycle from development to commercialization to retirement
- Partner on strategic direction for seasonal selling plans and overall strategies
- Provide global product framework and assortment structure for retail, wholesale, and digital channels
- Research and analyze global marketplace to inform product development
- Write and present product briefs for new product category strategies and seasonal storytelling
- Develop and sustain close relationships with Design and Development teams
- Develop and deliver product presentations for key calendar touchpoints
- Maintain effective partnerships with Visual Merchandising, Design, Development, Brand Marketing, and Colour teams
- Own global go to market product knowledge and provide sell in tools and product information
Requirements
- 8+ years experience in a merchandising environment with product led brands
- 3+ years experience leading a team or function
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills
- Creative and strategic thinker, influencer, consensus builder
- Excellent knowledge of retail math concepts
- Highly organized with strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills
- Proven track record in developing and leading a team in multi year business strategy execution
- Excellent understanding of active apparel market and outdoor industry
- Excellent understanding of design and development process
- Proficient in Adobe and Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
- Willing and able to travel as required
