About the Role
Arc'teryx seeks a Pattern Maker 2 to partner with Design from concept through pre-production, creating patterns that meet design intent and quality standards. The role requires 5+ years of product pattern making experience and expertise in garment construction.

Responsibilities
- Interpret design intent and create concepts, prototypes and counter sample patterns
- Partner with Designers and Product Developers to establish standard fit, sizing and product consistency
- Establish and document product construction standards and illustrated technical specifications
- Contribute to the block pattern library
- Maintain computer pattern libraries and ensure changes are communicated to team
- Report on prototype and sample progress, ensuring development deadlines are met
- Provide estimates of raw material yields to Product Developers during prototype development
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with Designer, Sample Sewers, Product Developers and Factories
- Develop and maintain accurate sample garments and measurement specifications
- Support and contribute to CLO 3D modeling as needed
Requirements
- Relevant post secondary education and 5+ years' experience in product pattern making
- Ability to work from pattern blocks or from sketches
- Excellent knowledge of garment constructions
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proactive in identifying root cause of issues and seeking best solutions
- Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

Your opportunity at Arc'teryx
- As a Pattern Maker 2, you partner with Design from maker phase, supporting on concepts through to pre production.
- You create patterns which meet design intent as well as Arc'teryx quality, fit and construction expectations.
- This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is expected to be performed on site.
Core Activities
- Interpreting design intent and creating concepts, prototypes and counter sample patterns.
- Partnering with Designers and Product Developers to establish standard fit, sizing and product consistency.
- Partnering with Designers and Product Developers to establish and document product construction standards.
- Contributing to the block pattern library.
- Maintaining computer pattern libraries, ensuring changes are clearly shared.
- Reporting on prototype and sample progress, ensuring development deadlines are met.
- Providing estimates of raw material yields to Product Developers.
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with cross functional partners.
- Developing and maintaining accurate sample garments and measurement specifications.
- Supporting and contributing to CLO 3D modeling as needed.
- Participating in organized training programs.
Qualifications
- Relevant post secondary education and 5+ years' experience in product pattern making.
- Ability to work from pattern blocks or from sketches.
- Excellent knowledge of garment constructions.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Proactive in identifying root cause of issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills.
