Lead functional safety assurance across a major Saudi transport portfolio.
Work with project teams, suppliers, and authorities to manage safety requirements, risks, approvals, and recognised standards.
Support safe, integrated, and compliant transport systems throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead system and functional safety strategies, plans, and assurance processes across the transport portfolio.
- Manage safety targets, risks, acceptance criteria, and assurance evidence throughout delivery.
- Oversee hazard identification, verification, validation, and specialist safety studies using ALARP principles.
- Coordinate with project teams, suppliers, leadership, and authorities to secure approvals and provide safety reporting.
- Support incident investigations, coach teams, and promote a safety-first culture.
- Identify and manage carbon emissions and reductions during delivery work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline focused on railway systems safety.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- Recognised professional membership and Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent international professional registration.
- 10-15 years of relevant land transport design, construction, and/or operations and maintenance experience.
- Middle East experience is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of smart-city frameworks and sustainable design principles.
- Experience delivering safety assurance evidence in safety-critical transport environments.
- Detailed knowledge of safety performance measures and international benchmarks.
