Role overview
Lead the preparation of technical and commercial estimates for large-scale building and infrastructure projects.
Manage the complete tendering process, bid strategies, multidisciplinary coordination, and timely submission of high-quality proposals.
Key responsibilities
- Lead MEP estimation and tendering for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems.
- Own the tender process from inquiry receipt to final submission.
- Review drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, contracts, and tender documents.
- Prepare cost estimates, quantity take-offs, value engineering proposals, and bid pricing strategies.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, planning, commercial, finance, legal, and operations teams.
- Manage and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Risk and client engagement
- Identify technical, commercial, contractual, and execution risks.
- Participate in client meetings, tender clarifications, negotiations, and presentations.
- Present tender strategies, opportunities, risks, and recommendations to management.
- Ensure submissions are accurate, competitive, and compliant with client requirements.
Technical qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
- Thirteen to fifteen or more years of experience in MEP estimation and tendering for major building or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in quantity take-offs, estimation software, value engineering, and cost planning.
- Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts and tendering procedures.
- GCC experience is preferred.
