Job Summary
Title examiners research documents, maps, and sales records to determine whether a property can be sold with a clear title.
The work includes checking for foreclosure, restrictions on property use, boundary disputes, and other title issues.
Core Responsibilities
- Search property records from realtors, banks, surveyors, and government agencies.
- Recommend issuance of a clear title when the property can proceed to sale.
- Create color-coded maps for customers, title officers, and examiners.
- Perform basic assembly and imaging activities and collate information with guidance.
Work Standards and Collaboration
- Monitor work to meet expected performance, time, budget, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with customers, onshore counterparts, supervisors, team members, analysts, and business teams.
- Develop technical and behavioral skills through initiative and learning.
- Adapt to unfamiliar situations and different cultures while maintaining urgency for deliverables.
Technical Skills
- Use specialized applications such as FAST, Eagle Pro, Eagle Search Product, ArcGIS, ICO Maps, and Deed Plotter.
- Use search tools such as Data Tree, Data Trace, RDRI, and Title Scan.
- Use delivery tools including email, fax, and Real Time Mail.
- Retrieve information from online sites and work with EaglePro Link and final delivery documents.
- Design generated document templates.
Competencies
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of the title insurance value chain and post-production process.
- Know when to obtain help with work issues.
- Display strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Promote teamwork, openness, dialogue, and professional conduct.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 13 years of formal education and graduation.
- Professional work experience of 1 to 4 years.
