Assess risk associated with real estate deals and communicate with clients.
Provide underwriting support and detailed coverage information to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the phone queue and review title requisitions, surveys, title searches, and off-title searches.
- Provide pre-approvals to account managers, lawyers, mortgage brokers, realtors, purchasers, and vendors.
- Review policy orders and contact solicitors, lenders, and insured parties to identify fraudulent transactions.
- Prepare and explain non-standard Schedule B exceptions and endorsements and confer with solicitors.
- Assist in issuing Managed Mortgage Solutions policies by reviewing searches, commitments to insure, and surveys.
- Attend underwriting meetings and stay current with new or revised statutes across Canada.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience working in a real estate law firm.
- Specialized knowledge of real estate law, real estate transaction mechanics, and Land Titles.
- Professional and customer-service-focused communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong computer skills.
Compensation
- Total direct compensation is listed as CAD 64,800 to CAD 79,300.
- The stated range may include base pay plus expected incentives or allowances where applicable.
