About the Role
Emirates Global Aluminium seeks a Senior Industrial Traffic Safety Engineer to design, audit, and improve vehicular and pedestrian traffic systems at its UAE operations.

Responsibilities
- Design and optimize indoor and outdoor traffic routing plans to separate heavy machinery, MHE, and pedestrian walkways.
- Conduct Internal Traffic Impact Studies for plant expansions and layout changes.
- Map and analyze blind spots, high traffic intersections, and loading dock zones for conflict points.
- Maintain and evaluate near miss data logs and surveillance camera data to identify high risk zones.
- Oversee installation of physical traffic control infrastructure (bollards, barriers, striping, mirrors, signage).
- Evaluate and integrate smart safety technologies (proximity sensors, pedestrian detection cameras, speed limiting zones).
- Develop and manage annual OPEX budget for traffic safety maintenance.
- Prepare cost benefit analyses and ROI forecasts for traffic safety investments.
- Author, justify, and submit CAPEX proposals for large scale traffic overhauls.
- Act as project manager for traffic related CAPEX projects, overseeing contractors from design to commissioning.
- Serve as single point of contact for external Traffic Impact Study consultants.
- Conduct formal Traffic Safety Audits and author plant wide traffic rules and SOPs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science
- 5 8 years of experience in traffic management with hands on experience in the UAE
- Solid grasp of UAE traffic laws and local transport regulations
- Mastery of risk assessment frameworks (JSA, FMEA, Hazard Identification)
- Knowledge of safety management systems and auditing
- Excellent interpersonal and customer focused skills
- Excellent time management and priority setting skills

Job Purpose
- The Industrial Traffic Safety senior engineer is responsible for independent design, auditing, and continuous improvement of all vehicular and pedestrian traffic systems within EGA Abu Dhabi and Dubai operations.
- The primary purpose is to eliminate or reduce the risk of vehicle vehicle and vehicle pedestrian interactions.
- Establish and govern a standardized industrial traffic safety framework across all EGA sites.
Key Accountabilities
- Design and optimize indoor and outdoor traffic routing plans that separate heavy machinery, MHE, and pedestrian walkways.
- Conduct Internal Traffic Impact Studies ahead of plant expansions or layout changes.
- Map and analyze blind spots, high traffic intersections, and loading dock zones.
- Maintain and evaluate near miss data logs and surveillance camera data.
- Mandate and oversee installation of physical traffic control infrastructure (bollards, barriers, striping, mirrors, signage).
- Evaluate advanced safety tech such as proximity sensors, pedestrian detection cameras, and smart interlocking gates.
- Develop and manage annual OPEX budget for traffic safety maintenance.
- Prepare cost benefit analyses and ROI forecasts for traffic safety investments.
- Author, justify, and submit CAPEX proposals for large scale site traffic overhauls.
- Act as primary stakeholder or project manager for traffic related CAPEX projects.
- Serve as internal SPOC for external Traffic Impact Study consultants.
- Conduct formal Traffic Safety Audits and author plant wide traffic rules and SOPs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science.
- 5 8 years of experience in traffic management with hands on experience in the UAE.
- Solid grasp of UAE traffic laws and local transport regulations.
- Mastery of JSA, FMEA, and Hazard Identification methodologies applied to traffic environments.
- Thorough knowledge of safety management systems, auditing, and international health & safety standards.
- Root cause analysis mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer focused skills.
- Excellent time management and priority setting skills.
Authority/Decision Making
- Provide mandatory sign off on all proposed factory floor layouts regarding spatial traffic impact.
- Dictate placement and budget for physical barriers, lane markings, and technology within CAPEX projects.
- Review bids and select preferred external TIS consulting firms and contractors.
- Stop work authority for unsafe traffic layouts; authority to reject non compliant CAPEX designs.
- Works independently and keeps Departmental Management updated.
