- Direct implementation of functional strategy aligned to group strategy

- Oversee consolidation and recommend functional budget
- Strategize creation of company wide safety policies and procedures
- Lead development of comprehensive governance framework for safety management
- Monitor effective implementation of Safety System procedures
- Lead and coordinate safety related projects across all EGA sites
- Lead significant incident investigations and direct preparation of reports
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for international safety standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management, HSSE, or related discipline
- Professional certification/diploma in Safety Management
- Lead Auditor certification
- 12 years of safety experience in an industrial environment
- At least 4 years at safety management level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to conduct training

Job Purpose
- Provides functional expertise, leads and directs the development, planning, management and audit of effective implementation of EGA’s Safety Management systems across all sites.
Key Accountabilities Strategy Development and Implementation
- Sets out EGA’s Safety and Governance strategy and framework based on ESG & Sustainability strategy.
- Directs implementation of functional strategy ensuring alignment to group strategy.
- Ensures provision of subject matter expertise and counsel to EGA leadership.
- Shares approved strategy with local/legal authorities for feedback.
Key Accountabilities Leadership
- Manages effective achievement of functional objectives through leadership and team development.
- Establishes SMART KPIs for departments.
- Leads talent development initiatives.
- Acts as a role model and drives adherence to organizational values.
- Oversees effective coordination with other departments.
Key Accountabilities Budgeting and Financial Performance
- Oversees consolidation and recommends functional budget.
- Monitors financial performance versus budget.
Key Accountabilities Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Strategizes creation of company wide safety policies and procedures.
- Enforces and implements corporate procedures.
- Communicates internally relevant safety and governance information.
Key Accountabilities Safety Governance
- Leads development of comprehensive governance framework for safety management.
- Counsels EGA Management on safety roles and responsibilities.
- Ensures implementation, updating, review and auditing of EGA safety systems.
- Plans, leads and coordinates all safety related projects.
- Leads conducting of safety meetings and inspections.
- Plans, implements, and conducts safety and compliance audits.
- Provides site safety management with guidance.
Key Accountabilities EGA Site Safety
- Leads day to day operations of all EGA sites.
- Accountable to review and stop operations that could harm employees.
- Directs proactive identification of opportunities to minimize injuries.
- Leads significant incident investigations.
- Reviews accident and incident reports.
- Manages identification and planning of safety training courses.
- Conducts safety inspections and audits.
Key Accountabilities International Safety
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for international safety standards.
- Lead initiatives to raise awareness about safety protocols.
- Implement standardized reporting system for safety incidents.
- Regularly review and update safety procedures to align with international standards.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations across all international operations.
