Responsibilities
- Prepare and present high quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked goods in line with established recipes and standards
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations within the pastry section to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Support the Pastry Chef in menu development, seasonal creations, and recipe refinement
- Monitor food quality, consistency, portion control, and presentation standards
- Train, mentor, and guide junior pastry chefs, commis chefs, and kitchen assistants
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
- Manage inventory, stock rotation, and ingredient requisitions to minimize waste
- Conduct quality checks on raw ingredients and finished products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry kitchen environment
- Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure seamless service and timely production
- Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance needs proactively
- Assist in controlling food costs through effective planning and waste management
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Senior CDP in pastry
- Strong expertise in pastry techniques, desserts, and baked goods
- Leadership skills with ability to train and manage a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
