Role Description
The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site position based in Doha, Qatar.
The role oversees day-to-day accounting operations and ensures accurate transaction posting.
The position includes financial reporting, reconciliations, closing activities, budgeting support, compliance monitoring, management reporting, and guidance for junior staff.
Accounting Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger entries and prepare and review financial statements.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes and prepare reports for management and auditors.
- Monitor compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and local tax regulations.
- Collaborate with finance and operational teams, guide junior staff, and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications
- Strong technical accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and reconciliation.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and other reporting tools.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and internal control best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills in high-volume transaction environments.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate with a team, mentor junior staff, and manage deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a senior or lead accounting role, preferably in consulting, recruitment, or professional services.
- Familiarity with IFRS and experience in the Gulf region are highly beneficial.
