Role Overview
Assist the Security Manager in implementing, overseeing, and monitoring hotel security matters and policies.
Protect guests, employees, property, assets, and classified information from injury, damage, loss, and theft.
Provide or support 24-hour security coverage throughout the hotel.
Security Operations
- Supervise security staff and ensure they discharge their duties effectively.
- Maintain access control, key control, and material control systems as preventative security measures.
- Conduct and conclude investigations into theft, loss, vandalism, arson, accidents, and other security incidents.
- Operate and maintain surveillance equipment according to established standards.
- Perform regular security rounds throughout each 24-hour period.
- Update the daily security log and forward it to the Assistant Security Manager for review.
Supervision and Administration
- Supervise and assess the contracted security company daily.
- Supervise, train, correct, and demonstrate duties according to standard operating procedures.
- Assign responsibilities, implement multitasking, and conduct periodic performance checks.
- Assist in planning weekly schedules to ensure adequate staffing for business levels.
- Assist with annual performance evaluations.
- Ensure employees report punctually in the correct uniform and name badge.
Requirements
- Understand and adhere to all applicable local laws.
- Have the working knowledge and capability to supervise, train, correct, and demonstrate assigned security duties.
Workplace Context
- The role supports security operations across a hotel property and includes regular physical security rounds.
