The **Retail Pro POS Technical Consultant** will oversee the implementation, customization, integration, and ongoing support of the Retail Pro Point-of-Sale (POS) system across our retail operations.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with deep retail systems knowledge to ensure seamless POS functionality, integration with enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, Loyalty, ECOM), and delivery of high-quality support for store operations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design, configure, and deploy Retail Pro POS (Retail Pro Prism) across multiple store locations.
  • Customize POS workflows, screen layouts, receipts, and system settings based on business requirements.
  • Manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements while minimizing business disruption.
  • Oversee integration of Retail Pro POS with ERP, CRM, loyalty systems, eCommerce platforms, and payment gateways.
  • Ensure accurate synchronization of sales, inventory, promotions, and customer data across systems.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to resolve integration and data-related issues.
  • Provide technical support and act as the escalation point for POS-related incidents and problems.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot transaction, replication, and connectivity issues.
  • Conduct system health checks and implement preventive maintenance activities.
  • Lead POS implementation projects, store rollouts, migrations, and system enhancements.
  • Coordinate with business functions including Finance, Supply Chain, Store Operations, and Audit to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain system documentation and support business continuity initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in **Computer Science, Information Systems**, or a related field.
  • Minimum **5 years** of experience in retail IT systems with **at least 2 years of hands-on experience with Retail Pro POS (Retail Pro Prism).**
  • Retail industry certifications or Retail Pro certifications are an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, store processes, and POS workflows.
  • Experience integrating POS systems with ERP, CRM, loyalty platforms, and payment gateways.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database management (Oracle and/or MySQL).
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including LAN, WAN, VPN, and store connectivity.
  • Experience managing POS implementations and rollouts across multiple stores and locations.
  • Experience with **large-scale retail transformation or digitalization projects**.
  • Experience with JavaScript, .NET, or other scripting/programming languages is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Good balance of technical and functional business knowledge.
  • Understanding of retail promotions, coupons, loyalty programs, and compliance requirements.
