Position Overview
Registered Practical Nurse position in the 6C Complex Continuing Care department at West Park Healthcare Centre.
The nurse provides compassionate, collaborative, and competent care within the RPN scope of practice.
The role reports to the Manager, Program Services and has one replacement vacancy.
Compensation
- Salary is $38.42 to $39.02 per hour, with the starting rate governed by the collective agreement.
Schedule and Employment
- The position is permanent part-time at 0.4 FTE.
- Shifts include days and nights.
Duties
- Plan, manage, and evaluate nursing care for patients and families within the RPN scope of practice.
- Use current theoretical and research knowledge and team input to plan and implement care.
- Participate in inter-professional care planning forums, rounds, and family conferences.
- Mentor RPN students and new staff on the unit.
- Participate in professional, program, and hospital-wide initiatives and professional development.
- Follow patient safety responsibilities, hospital plans, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Diploma in Practical Nursing.
- Recent related clinical experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated problem recognition, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and team success.
- Resilience and effective coping strategies to manage change.
- Computer literacy in word processing and Electronic Patient Record systems.
- Working knowledge of College of Nurses of Ontario standards of practice.
- Satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
